Health Policies: It is our goal to provide a healthy & safe environment for everyone. Through the Health Department, DHR guidelines & parent cooperation we can maintain a well day care if we follow the rules and have open communication & mutual respect for everyone evaluation of the children. My best interest in all children and teachers are to stay healthy and well at all times because we have to keep the daycare healthy and those involved. Children that are visibly ill or suspected to be contagious will not be admitted. If your child becomes sick we will contact the parent/guardian immediately to pick up the child. The child will have to be picked up within 1 hr. After 1 hr the late pick up policy will be assessed. Dismissal may occur if there is a second incident of not picking up an ill child in an allotted time. The following are some symptoms which the child can’t come to daycare.
Fever of 100 degrees- Child must be fever free 24 hours before returning to school meaning they can’t have any fever reducing medicine in their system to make them fever free.
Chronic cough with a runny nose- Runny nose that produce yellow/green mucus suggests an infection or persistent colored mucus and child appears to be feeling bad, the child will not be allowed to stay. They will need time at home followed by physicians release to attend daycare. Please be considerate of others and teachers when choosing to return your child to school.
1 incident of vomiting- Child shouldn’t return for at least 24 hrs after symptoms disappeared
Rash- If the child has any type of rash, they cannot return to day care unless a physician has a written note it’s eczema or a non-contagious rash.
Diarrhea- within a 4 hr period, whatever the reason is the child will need to go home and not return for at least 24 hrs after symptom have disappeared.
Pinkeye- itchy, swollen, pink, infected needs to go home and must be clear and free of discharge after 48 hours of receiving medicine before returning.
Hands,Foot,Mouth Disease- It is contagious, and contagious 2 days after the rash ends. Your child cannot attend daycare until 3 days after the rash ends.
Ringworm- Fungus is contagious & easily spread. The child cannot return until after the ringworm is gone.
Coronavirus or related symptoms- Child exposed to the virus would have to self quarantine for 14 days before returning. A Doctor’s note must also be included during return.
Anytime your child is sent home, there will be a sickness notification through our app indicating that you picked up your child and what day you are allowed to return them to daycare. For late pick up, we ask that parents observe our pick up and drop off times. There will be a $1 fee for every 1 minute a child is here outside of the program time you selected. Please note that the child needs to be picked up at their program time not the parent sitting in the yard or pulling up at the program time.
